Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes Go Viral at Chiefs Game

Star recording artist Taylor Swift took center stage once again during the Chiefs game, this time, her co-star was Brittany Mahomes.

Taylor Swift made her ceremonious return to Arrowhead Stadium to watch Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Chargers. Swift, the screen and stage star whose connection to the All-Pro TE has caused quite the social media firestorm, moves the needle every time she appears on an NFL telecast.

The pop music icon has become quite friendly with Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, and now their appearances during football games are going viral.

How Did Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes Become the Latest Viral Sensation?

Once upon a time, we used to watch NFL games for the action on the field, but now we have a camera fixated on the press box for every move a certain media megastar makes. On Sunday, Swift and new BFF Brittany Mahomes went viral for a handshake that was … something.

The NFL is infatuated with the Swift/Kelce storyline, pushing the narrative as far as possible without being voyeuristic, including the announcers making various corny references to the pop star, even when she’s not at the games. Swift’s presence is papable during games that don’t even include Kelce or the Chiefs.

One working theory is that the NFL wants to convince Swift to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. That ship has officially sailed for 2024, but perhaps Swift reconsiders for a future show, given all the attention the NFL is giving her? Reportedly, the league has made previous inquiries to the Swift camp, but they have been declined.

What’s Next for the Kansas City Chiefs?

Mahomes and the Chiefs’ passing game looked as explosive on Sunday as they have all season. Kelce found open holes in the Chargers defense throughout the game, and Los Angeles never had an answer for the prolific duo. The Chiefs have become notorious for explosive plays down the field, but Kansas City’s offense has evolved in 2023.

Tyreek Hill brought a different and unique element to the Chiefs offense, and since the Chiefs traded the speedster, the offense has constantly evolved. The Chiefs have drafted Skyy Moore and Rashee Rice in back-to-back drafts, but they have not been able to replicate Hill’s impact.

Kansas City has become a more balanced offense, highlighted by a newly found commitment to the running game featuring Isiah Pacheco. The Chiefs offense remains one of the top units in the NFL under the leadership of QB Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid.
