Houston Texans WR Tank Dell has shined with fellow rookie C.J. Stroud slinging him the rock. But after taking a big hit downfield against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 10, he left the field. Here’s the latest injury update on the Texans’ promising first-year playmaker.
Tank Dell Injury Update
On 2nd-and-9 in the second quarter, Stroud overthrew a wide-open Dell downfield toward his back shoulder. Dell contorted for the ball but took a huge hit to the back of his ribs by Bengals second-year safety Dax Hill.

Dell was in obvious pain but was able to jog off the field after being tended to by trainers. After spending some time on the sideline, Dell was cleared to return to the contest — a relief for Texans fans and Stroud himself, who was already missing WR Nico Collins (calf).

Prior to the injury, Dell hauled in four of six targets for 39 yards and a touchdown, even taking a carry for 13 yards. Expect Dell to return to his regular workload against the Bengals, as Houston will need its offense firing on all cylinders to force an upset. Although, he may not lay out for an overthrow over the middle of the field again today.
Fantasy Fallout From Dell’s Injury
Dell’s great rookie season continues after scoring a touchdown in the first half against the Bengals prior to sustaining an injury. Dell caught four receptions for 39 yards and added an additional 13 yards on one carry before taking a big hit and going to the medical tent.
Dell was likely to see an expanded role in the passing game, with Collins already ruled out for Week 10. Look for Noah Brown, Robert Woods, and Dalton Schultz to see the majority of the work in the passing game if Dell misses any snaps.
