A good fantasy football manager is always looking for talent to build their roster, whether replacing a hurt starter or simply adding depth. Will Texans rookie wide receiver Tank Dell be worthy of a pickup this week?

Should Tank Dell Be a Fantasy Waiver Wire Add in Week 3?
Dell is talented, with over 100 catches, almost 1400 yards, and an eye-catching 17 touchdowns in his last collegiate season; this cannot be debated. Dell is tiny, at 5’8″ and 165 pounds; this also cannot be debated. We will have to figure out whether this will translate into NFL production worthy of a spot on your fantasy roster.

Let’s look at the proof through two weeks. In Week 1, Dell had a modest three catches for 34 yards when fellow rookie C.J. Stroud only threw for 242 yards. But wow, Dell looked good. In Week 2, Dell exploded with 10 targets to lead the team and hauled in seven catches for 72 yards and a touchdown when Stroud was forced to throw for 384 yards.
I believe this formula continues, and when Stroud has to throw, he will look Dell’s way often. The Texans will be behind a lot this season and forced to throw the ball — Stroud has been accurate already in his young career.
His target competition is Nico Collins and Robert Woods, and I think Stroud and head coach DeMeco Ryans saw what we all saw on Sunday. Dell was electric and seemed to be everywhere in Week 2.
Forget fantasy draft ADP, I like to look at NFL Draft capital, and the Texans used a valuable third-round pick on Dell and immediately put him in the lineup. I like to add talent with opportunity in any situation that I can.
This situation reminds me a lot of Christian Watson from last year, and I think we all would have liked to have him on our roster all season. I recommend picking up Dell and dropping the veteran with limited upside, as I see Dell continuing on the path he started here in Week 2.
