Should Tank Bigsby Be a Fantasy Waiver Wire Add This Week?

RB Travis Etienne led the way for Jacksonville in Week 1, playing 56 snaps and getting 18 carries, but Bigsby made his presence known on 15 snaps and seven carries. Those touches turned into 13 yards and one TD.

Bigsby also had one target through the air. The numbers aren’t phenomenal, but he took most of the goal-line snaps, which could lead to more scoring opportunities in what looked like a solid Jaguars offense.

Bigsby was a bruiser coming out of Auburn, hitting almost 1,000 rushing yards his final year in addition to 10 TDs on the ground and an additional 180 yards receiving. It seems to have translated well to the NFL.

The Jags’ passing attack versus running attack was relatively even on Sunday, with Trevor Lawrence recording 32 passing attempts to the team’s 35 rushing attempts, and there is no reason to believe that it won’t continue that way with even talent across the board.

Bigsby will be a solid RB2 with TD upside, even with Etienne on the field. If Etienne gets injured, Bigsby would jump to RB1 territory. In an offense that could be among the top 10 in the NFL, he’s a very valuable addition to fantasy rosters in 2023.

The rookie is currently rostered in less than 45% of Yahoo leagues and should be considered a priority pickup heading into Week 2.
