The post-Tom Brady era has officially begun for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they officially announced Baker Mayfield as their starting quarterback for 2023.
As we creep under three weeks until the start of the NFL regular season, jobs across the league are being won and lost in preseason action. With the Buccaneers making it official Tuesday morning, it looks as if Mayfield has secured himself a starting job for 2023.

Life without Brady was always going to be an interesting one for the Buccaneers as they move on from the greatest quarterback of all time and move forward looking for their new signal-caller.
Tampa Bay let the battle rage on through the first month of training camp between Mayfield and returning backup Kyle Trask. But ultimately, it was the former first-round pick Mayfield who would secure the job.

Another Chance for Baker Mayfield
After a tumultuous four seasons as a Cleveland Brown, Mayfield found himself looking for a new home in 2022 and thought he might have found that chance in Carolina with the Panthers.
Unfortunately, that did not go as planned, and once again — this time midseason — Mayfield found himself on the move. The former No. 1 overall pick headed to the west coast to join the banged-up Los Angeles Rams.
With the Rams, Mayfield was able to impress at times. And while the opportunity to start was taken by Matthew Stafford, Mayfield was able to play well enough during his small window of opportunity to earn interest from the Buccaneers.
The road to Tampa Bay has not been a smooth one for Mayfield, but with all past transgressions in the rearview window, the Buccaneers in a post-Brady world may just be the change of scenery the veteran QB needed.
