Dan Orlovsky just threw a Hail Mary take, and NFL fans aren’t having it. The ESPN analyst picked Josh Allen over Lamar Jackson for MVP, and Twitter erupted like a stadium after a missed field goal. Baltimore Ravens fans, Buffalo Bills fans, and neutral observers all chimed in — some questioning his football IQ, others ready to revoke his analyst card.
Jackson’s dual-threat dominance versus Allen’s gunslinging ways? It’s a debate, but Orlovsky’s take had folks calling for a review.

Dan Orlovsky’s MVP Pick Sparks Fan Fury
Orlovsky just fumbled the fan vote. He picked Allen over Jackson for MVP, and Ravens fans just weren’t okay with it. “Take his vote away!” That was the mood after Orlovsky explained his reasoning, highlighting Allen’s value to Buffalo’s offense.
“The Bills were the No. 2 seed. Josh had a 40-touchdown, 8-turnover, 14-sack season,” Orlovsky defended on “Get Up.”
“The Bills didn’t have an elite defense. The Bills had a very good run game, not a great run game. They didn’t have elite perimeter players in any regard. The way that Josh played this season, and the different style that he played, brought tremendous value to their football team.”

He pointed out the Bills’ lack of elite weapons and praised Allen for elevating the team. Meanwhile, Jackson, who led the Ravens to the No. 1 seed, was probably the best player in football this year, according to Orlovsky himself.
The issue? Allen won MVP without making the All-Pro first team — something that’s only happened twice before (John Elway in 1987, Steve McNair in 2003). Jackson, on the other hand, was named the All-Pro QB and dominated statistically. He threw for 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns, with 4 INTs.

Orlovsky’s take sparked instant backlash. Fans questioned how Jackson could be the best player in football but not the most valuable. Others pointed out that Allen had star receiver Stefon Diggs and tight end Dalton Kincaid, while Jackson played without a true WR1.
MVP debates always get heated, but this one had Ravens fans ready to throw the challenge flag.
NFL Fans Call Foul on Josh Allen Over Lamar Jackson
Orlovsky backed Allen over Jackson, and Ravens fans were quick to react. “Take his vote away. Man is shameless. He called Josh Allen the MVP weeks before the season had even ended,” one fan raged, pointing out that Orlovsky had been calling Allen the MVP even before the season ended.

Orlovsky argued that Allen’s supporting cast wasn’t as strong, making his performance more valuable. Fans fired back. “So basically you said the Bills GM isn’t good at his job, so Josh gets the MVP?” one posted, calling out the logic.

Another added, “So you’re penalizing Lamar because he has a better GM? It was out of the question before the season started.”
Not everyone disagreed. One fan doubled down, saying Allen was the “best player in the league on a per-play basis” and would have won MVP no matter what team he played on.
But others dismissed the MVP entirely, arguing it should always go to the best player, unless the NFL is ready to hand it to Patrick Mahomes every year.
