DJ Moore, WR, Chicago Bears: 45.5 Receiving Yards
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ secondary got tuned up by Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison in the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings.
While DJ Moore isn’t the same caliber of player as Jefferson, he has still given the Bucs’ secondary issues over the past four games when he was a member of the Carolina Panthers.

His average yardage output in those four contests was 82 receiving yards. When you dive even deeper, his minimum yardage production in all of those games was 55 yards receiving. This is the part where I remind you that the prop line for this contest is just 45.5 receiving yards.
Keep in mind, these games came against a better Bucs defense while catching passes from Sam Darnold, Cam Newton, and PJ Walker.
Not to mention, Moore only saw two targets in the Bears’ season-opening loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Expect Moore to be heavily involved in the Bears’ passing attack against a secondary he has torched in recent years.
Pick: Over
Jamaal Williams, RB, New Orleans Saints: 53.5 Rushing Yards
The New Orleans Saints’ running game drew one of the toughest matchups in the league to start the 2023 season. The Tennessee Titans’ defense is a formidable unit that managed to hold Jamaal Williams to a rough 2.5 yards per carry on 18 carries in Week 1.
The silver lining we can take from the Saints’ season opener was Williams dominating usage from the running back position, seeing 18 of the 19 carries from the Saints’ backfield.
Fortunately, the Saints’ Week 2 matchup is against a Carolina Panthers defense that gave up 131 rushing yards to the Atlanta Falcons’ running back duo of Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier in Week 1.
The only potential cause for concern would be the status of rookie running back Kendre Miller — who managed to log limited practices on Thursday and Friday while trying to work through a hamstring injury — who could eat into Williams’ workload if he makes his NFL debut against the Panthers.
However, even if Miller manages to get on the field in Week 2, I have to imagine he’ll be somewhat limited by the coaching staff to limit the chances of reaggravating the hamstring injury.
So, when you combine Williams’ projected volume of touches in the running game and their matchup against a Panthers team that isn’t likely to generate a ton of points against a quality Saints defense — it feels like Williams has a great chance to top this prop line in Week 2.
Pick: Over
James Cook, RB, Buffalo Bills: 50.5 Rushing Yards
The Buffalo Bills didn’t run the ball particularly well in their Week 1 loss on Monday Night Football (MNF) at the hands of the New York Jets, but the usage from James Cook was encouraging for his role in this offense moving forward.
Cook saw 12 of the 15 carries that came from the running back position and comfortably led the team with 46 yards rushing.
The Denver Broncos’ running backs combined to run for 93 yards on 21 carries against the Raiders in Week 1. If the Bills’ backfield usage rate from MNF continues and Cook’s efficiency on the ground returns to what we became accustomed to in his rookie season, this is an intriguing prop play at the 50.5 line.
The Bills’ offense should be far more productive in Week 2 against a Las Vegas defense that is susceptible to opposing passing attacks, which should give Cook a far more favorable game script to accumulate rushing yards against the Raiders.
Pick: Over
Deebo Samuel, WR, San Francisco 49ers: 47.5 Receiving Yards
Did you know Deebo Samuel has posted five straight games of 66+ receiving yards against the Los Angeles Rams?
We all understand that Brandon Aiyuk exploded for eight receptions, 129 yards, and two scores against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1. But Deebo wasn’t exactly a non-factor in the passing game with five receptions for 55 yards.
While Samuel’s 2023 season opener was a bit disappointing, Week 2 will see him face off against a defense that he has given issues to in recent years.
Over the last four games against the Rams, Deebo has averaged 6.5 receptions, over 130 total yards, and a TD.
The Niners’ playmakers will be tough to predict on a weekly basis, but Deebo feels like a great bounce-back candidate this week against with a receiving prop line that Samuel has a lengthy track record of hitting against the Rams.
Pick: Over
