James Cook, RB, Buffalo Bills | 43.5 Rushing Yards

The Bills struggled mightily to run the football against the Jets last season. No running back topped 40 yards rushing in either contest last season, while Josh Allen led the team in rushing in both games.

However, the Bills decided not to bring back Devin Singletary this offseason, which means James Cook should see an expanded role in this backfield to start the season.

Cook averaged 5.77 yards per carry in his rookie season. If he maintains anywhere near that efficiency with an expanded role, expect Cook to get just north of the 50-yard rushing mark in his 2023 debut.

    Pick: OVER

Garrett Wilson, WR, New York Jets | 69.5 Receiving Yards & 5.5 Receptions

Garrett Wilson didn’t need MVP-caliber quarterback play to give the Bills’ secondary issues last season. In their two games against Buffalo last year, Wilson caught a minimum of six passes and 78 receiving yards.

Now that Rodgers is the starting QB, expect Wilson to be the focal point of a Jets passing attack, which see him continue to produce against the Bills and top both of these lines.

    Pick: OVER

Dalvin Cook, RB, New York Jets | 42.5 Rushing Yards

The Jets won the Dalvin Cook sweepstakes this offseason as an insurance policy for second-year running back Breece Hall. However, with both Hall (knee) and Cook (shoulder) expected to play in the season opener, it makes projecting this snap a bit tricky.

However, the Jets did have a running back top the 70-yard rushing mark in both contests against the Bills last season.

If you believe New York will prefer the veteran option to start the season — like we’ve seen throughout most of the league this weekend — Cook certainly has the talent to hit the 43-yard threshold in his Jets debut.

    Pick: OVER

Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills | 248.5 Passing Yards

Buffalo is capable of torching almost any secondary unit in the NFL. However, Josh Allen really struggled to produce consistently through the air last season against a quality Jets secondary that features arguably the best corner in the league, Sauce Gardner.

Stefon Diggs had moments where he really struggled against Sauce last season, which included a three-reception, 37-yard performance in Week 14 against the Jets.

It wasn’t just Diggs who had some troubles, though. Allen failed to top 205 passing yards in both contests against New York last season.

Allen is a great player, but I see this being a lower-scoring, physical game between two bitter division rivals.

    Pick: UNDER
