Super Bowl championships are the ultimate metric by which NFL greatness is measured.
It’s certainly not the only factor in evaluating players’ careers or whether they might be Hall of Fame worthy, but it can be decisive in debates as to who is the best at what position or in which era. A few players have reached a tier all their own with more Super Bowl wins than most, if not all, of their counterparts.
Let’s take a look at which players have taken home the most Super Bowl victories during their storied careers.
Which Players Have the Most Super Bowl Wins?
There have been 57 Super Bowls played since the game’s debut to cap off the 1966 season, which saw the Green Bay Packers knock off the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 35-10.
Marv Fleming, who was part of the Packers teams that won the first two Super Bowls, is among the top players on the list of most Super Bowl rings with four as he won a pair with the Miami Dolphins as well. In fact, Fleming and 32 other players are tied for third place on the list at four Super Bowl rings apiece.
Ted Hendricks, Matt Millen, Bill Romanowski, and legendary kicker Adam Vinatieri are also among the tied players with four rings apiece, while 22 players won four championships with the Pittsburgh Steelers and six others won a quartet of rings with the San Francisco 49ers.
Terry Bradshaw, Franco Harris, and Lynn Swann are among the headliners of that Steelers group, which won four titles in six years from the 1974 season to the 1979 campaign. Joe Montana headlines the 49ers’ contingent after leading them to four titles in a nine-year run from 1981-89.
None of those four-time champions top the list of winningest players, however.
Legendary NFL linebacker Charles Haley comes in second with five titles across his storied career, two coming with the 49ers and three with the Dallas Cowboys. He won Super Bowls 23 and 24 during his time in San Francisco, then was part of Dallas’ run of three championships in four seasons as it took Super Bowls 27, 28, and 30.

Yet, even Haley’s historic amount of Super Bowl rings as the league’s first five-time champion doesn’t have him atop the all-time list.
Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady outpaces the rest of the league by far with seven Super Bowl titles throughout his career. He won six titles during his lengthy run with the New England Patriots, then wrapped up with one more ring in Super Bowl 55 after joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
It seems unlikely that Brady or even Haley will be caught shortly, but Patrick Mahomes is one player who could reach those lofty heights with two rings in three Super Bowl appearances already through his first six full seasons as the Chiefs’ full-time starting quarterback.
Time will tell whether Mahomes or other emerging stars can climb the ranks of that storied list.
