This year’s Super Bowl halftime show is loaded with stars. Five artists are slated to perform on the big stage. As with everything surrounding the Super Bowl, you can bet on this, too. Let’s take a look at Super Bowl 56 halftime show odds and prop bets.
Who is performing at the Super Bowl 56 Halftime Show?
For the first time since 2004, an ensemble of world-renowned artists are performing at the Super Bowl halftime show. In 2004, six artists performed. This year, we have five: Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.

Will Dr. Dre or Snoop Dogg perform first?
It’s impossible to discuss first artists without also discussing the first song — the two go hand in hand.
With the Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, “California Love” is favored for a good reason. Dr. Dre, as we know, is “Straight Outta Compton.” Given that “California Love” features Snoop Dogg, it makes too much sense for Dr. Dre to take Tupac’s part and open the show.
If Dr. Dre does perform first, I would be stunned if he didn’t open with “California Love.” I would bet Dr. Dre to perform first or “California Love” as the first song, whichever odds were better.
If you’re looking to take a shot on someone else, I don’t see any world where Kendrick Lamar comes out first or where Eminem doesn’t come out last. The only other plausible opener is Mary J. Blige. In that case, “Family Affair” as the first song may be worth a shot. With that said, I really think it’ll be Dr. Dre with “California Love.”
Super Bowl Halftime Show Odds: Total songs performed
- Over: 8.5 (-380)
- Under: 10.5 (+265)
This line suggests the sportsbooks really have no idea. Last year, The Weeknd sang nine songs. The year prior, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira performed 17 songs. In 2017, Lady Gaga was the last artist not to complete at least nine songs. The 2004 group of six performed 10.
Given that five artists are performing, over 8.5 feels like a lock. The -380 suggests sportsbooks agree. Normally, I would strongly oppose laying -380 on any bet, especially something like a halftime show prop. However, I am supremely confident in these artists performing at least nine songs. If you can find over 9.5 at a more reasonable price, I would bet that as well. An average of two songs per artist for performers with as many options as these six have feels like a lock.
