The Conference Championships are not too far away. While both AFC and NFC games are mouthwatering for fans, it’s the battle of Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen that’s being talked about the most.
Two of the greatest QBs of our time are ready to crown the kings of the AFC. One man who has hoisted the Lombardi four times, Rob Gronkowski, has stated his favorite in the upcoming matchup.
Rob Gronkowski Declares His Pick for the AFC Championship
The former New England Patriots tight end is looking forward to an exhilarating matchup to be played at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
The 35-year-old, during his appearance on the “Up & Adams Show,” declared his pick to be the Chiefs but with a twist.
“I went with Baltimore Ravens as last week, and I’ve been hearing it from all my friends in Buffalo, my family members in Buffalo,” he said. “So, I told them all that I was playing that reverse psychology role.”

“I really wanted the Bills to win, so I’m actually going to go with the Kansas City Chiefs. They’re gonna pull it off and they’re going to win by four.”
Gronkowski was born in Amherst, NY, and spent his formative years living just 11 miles away from Buffalo. Another reason for him to pick the Bills over the Chiefs could be his desire for the AFC crown to remain in the division he and his teammates conquered several times.
Uphill Battle for the Bills in the AFC Championship Game
Since 1994, the Bills have made it to the AFC Championship Game only once (2020). This Sunday will be their second time, and the Chiefs defeated them. Notably, their last AFC-crowning moment in 1993 also came against the Chiefs.
Since Mahomes and Allen have stepped on the field, the Bills have been sent home by the Chiefs twice in the Divisional Round. It’s clear that they will have to surpass their bitter foes to move on to the promised land.
Apart from Gronkowski, Buffalo has been favored by others as well. However, only time will tell whether this support will be enough to get them over the hump on Sunday.
