The Los Angeles Rams are reportedly shopping Cooper Kupp. The Kansas City Chiefs were rumored to be interested in the star wide receiver but instead opted to acquire DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans.
Kupp suffered an ankle injury in Week 2 and has been out since then. He is expected to play in Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings, but the Rams could still part ways with him before the trade deadline.
Four-time Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski was recently asked about his views on Kupp’s situation, and he talked about two teams that would make sense for the Rams wideout.
Rob Gronkowski on Potential Destinations for Cooper Kupp
In a recent appearance on the Up & Adams Show, Gronkowski mentioned the Washington Commanders as a team that could make a move for Kupp as they can afford him. Later he was asked about the Pittsburgh Steelers trading for Kupp, and the Patriots legend believes that Mike Tomlin’s team will be the best fit for the 31-year-old wide receiver.
“I like the Steelers. I went to school in Pittsburgh my senior year in high school. So, I know what it’s like to be, you know, part of that Steeler nation,” said Gronkowski. “I understand what the Steelers mean to the city of Pittsburgh.”
“If they get Cooper Kupp, let me tell you, with Russell Wilson playing the way he did, throwing that ball up, lobbing it up to make a catchable ball for its receivers to go make a play, I feel like that would boost the Steelers. I think it would be the best fit as well. The Steelers, if they can grab him, oh, let me tell you, Steeler nation would be going nuts.”

The Steelers have started the season 5-2 and need another wide receiver. They tried to get Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders, but he was traded to the New York Jets. Now with Amari Cooper and Hopkins also traded, Kupp remains the best option on the market.
The Rams’ star wideout has struggled with injuries since winning the Super Bowl in 2022, but when healthy, he is one of the best wide receivers in the league. He has 18 receptions for 147 yards and a touchdown in two games this year.
The Steelers scored 37 points against the Jets in Week 7 but need another receiver to help out George Pickens. With their defense playing well, getting a playmaker like Kupp will make Pittsburgh a legitimate Super Bowl contender in a stacked AFC.
Kupp Addresses Rams Future Amid Trade Rumours
Kupp is aware of his uncertain future with the Rams but is currently focused on doing his job in Los Angeles.
“It is that time of year. There’s going to be rumors and things that go around. I let that stuff, as much as I can, be in the background,” said Kupp. “I’m aware of it, but at the end of the day, I mean, I’m going to be where my feet are. That’s all I know. I have a job to do here. And I take a lot of pride in giving everything I can for the guys in this building…”
The Rams drafted the Eastern Washington product with the 69th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, and he has been a superstar for them. In 94 games across eight seasons for the NFC West franchise, Kupp has 585 catches for 7,213 yards and 53 touchdowns, averaging 12.3 yards per reception and 76.7 receiving yards per game.
He played a huge role in the Rams’ Super Bowl-winning campaign, but given the team’s current situation, it would be wise for them to trade Kupp and get back some draft assets.
