    Published on

NFL fans reacted to a crazy Patrick Mahomes AFC Championship Game statistic ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs' playoff opener vs. Houston.

Earlier today, the NFL on CBS X profile released a post highlighting how Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has made it to at least the AFC Championship Game every year of his career as a starting QB. As a result, social media has started reacting to this ridiculously impressive statistic.

Mahomes and the Chiefs qualified as the No. 1 seed in the AFC and had a bye through to the Divisional Round. Mahomes will look to continue this crazy AFC Championship milestone by winning next week against C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans. Mahomes and the Chiefs will have home-field advantage for the game, as it is being played at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Social Media Reaction to Crazy Mahomes Milestone

CBS posted about how Mahomes had been to at least the AFC Championship Game in every year as an NFL starter.

“Reminder: Patrick Mahomes has reached at least the AFC Championship in EVERY SEASON he’s been the starter 🤯,” they detailed.

This led one individual to explain how highly they thought of Mahomes and his abilities.

    “He’s a LEGEND!” they explained.

One user made clear that they believed the streak would continue due to the Texans not being a tough opponent.

“Cake walk this year getting Texans at home,” they stated.

Finally, one person expressed how it helps when you don’t need to play the Buffalo Bills nor the Baltimore Ravens this year to get to the AFC Championship Game.

“Helps when you get to avoid the Bills and Ravens to get there,” they said.

    Kansas City Chiefs Playoff Preview

For the streak to continue, the Chiefs will need to defeat the Texans this weekend. However, by no means is that an easy contest. The Texans looked rejuvenated this past weekend during the Wild Card clash against the Los Angeles Chargers. Despite the key injuries to wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell, the team scored 32 points and only gave up 12. In addition, the defense had four interceptions against star QB Justin Herbert.

Should the Chiefs win this game, though, the path to another Super Bowl does not get much easier for Mahomes. This year’s AFC Championship will feature either Ravens QB Lamar Jackson or Bills QB Josh Allen, both of whom are expected to be in the top two of MVP voting this year.

Despite this difficult path ahead for Mahomes and the Chiefs, it is evident that Mahomes is deserving of high praise for his elite and legendary AFC Championship milestone.
