The Philadelphia Eagles were the first team to punch their ticket to Super Bowl 59 thanks to their dominating performance over the Washington Commanders. Then, Patrick Mahomes and Co. got the win at home against the Buffalo Bills. The two Super Bowl opponents are now set.

Commanders vs. Eagles Results
In the Eagles’ 55-23 win over the Commanders, Philadelphia ensured they would be heading to New Orleans to compete in Super Bowl 59.
The Eagles’ seven rushing touchdowns tied the 1940 Chicago Bears for the most in a postseason game in NFL history. Saquon Barkley was once again amazing, putting up over 100 yards with three touchdowns.
The Eagles’ 55 points were also the most in a Conference Championship Game. They pass the 1990 Bills who scored 51 vs. the Raiders. Interestingly enough, the Eagles peaked early last season and scored 155 points over a five-game win streak (Weeks 7-12). Over their past five games, they’ve now scored 166 points.
Also, for Eagles fans, there is an interesting comparison forming with their 2017 team, the team that won the Super Bowl behind Nick Foles.
The 2017 Eagles won the Super Bowl after:
- 28-point win in November in Dallas
- Fell behind on the first drive of a blowout Championship win
- Undefeated in October and November
The 2024 Eagles have now:
- 28-point win in November in Dallas
- Fell behind on the first drive of a blowout Championship win
- Undefeated in October and November
Back to Saquon, his seven rushing TD vs. the Commanders this season ties the most by any player vs. a team in a single season all-time:
- Jim Brown had 7 in 1958 vs. the Cardinals
- Jim Taylor had 7 in 1952 vs. the Bears
The Eagles now have the most rushing yards in a season (including the playoffs) in NFL history.
Bills vs. Chiefs Results
Another year, another heartbreaking loss to the Chiefs. Super Bowl 59 will be played between Kansas City and Philadelphia after the Buffalo Bills once again came up short in Arrowhead.
With the win, Patrick Mahomes did two things:
- Passed Joe Montana for the 2nd-most playoff wins by a starting QB (17)
- Passed John Elway for the 2nd-most playoff GW drives by a QB (7)
Mahomes finished the game with a Quarterback+ rating of 88.7, which was actually his best game of the year, according to PFN’s proprietary data. It was also Mahomes’ first career multi-rushing TD game.
