Devin Booker, Kevin Durant Bet on Detroit Lions vs. Washington Commanders

The wager between Booker and Durant has taken social media by storm. The stage is set for basketball and football fans to tune in and watch the fates of NBA stars hanging in the balance of dynamic NFL talents.

Durant grew up in Washington D.C. and is a big fan of the Commanders. Booker, a Michigan native, can finally enjoy the success of his Lions. The lines have been drawn in the sand and the stakes have been set — all that’s left to do is wait in anticipation.

While their favorite teams settle the score on the gridiron, Booker and Durant have a game of their own to pass the time. The two will take on the Detroit Pistons on Saturday.

“For sure,” Booker said when asked if there was going to be a legal bet on the game. “Whatever he wants to do.”

Durant said he and Booker would work something out between themselves. “You don’t even gotta worry about that,” he said.

The Suns-Pistons game will tip off at 4 p.m. (ET), while the Commanders-Lions game kicks off at 8 p.m.

The two NBA stars might even be at Ford Field to watch their teams in person.

Earlier in the season, the Durant had an open practice and then flew to Austin to see the Longhorns take on the Georgia Bulldogs. Durant has also been outspoken about Washington’s season, chiming in with encouragement ahead of a five-game winning streak to end the regular season.

Both teams have quarterbacks capable of running away with Saturday’s affair. By PFN’s QB+ metric, Lions passer Jared Goff was the second-best quarterback in football in 2024. Commanders rookie Jayden Daniels set the league ablaze on the way to his No. 9 ranking.

Detroit is favored to win, but an upset would only make victory sweeter for Booker. Saturday will make teammates rivals for a day. Expect social media to be explosive as the teams trade blows and bragging rights are awarded.
