Sunday Night Football Game Preview, Week 14 | Steelers vs Bills
The Pittsburgh Steelers got dealt a bad hand the past couple of weeks. The Baltimore Ravens had a number of positive cases that pushed their game back nearly a full week. That forced them to play a Monday night game on short rest against a team that had nearly two weeks of rest. That led to their first loss of the season. Now they have to come back six days later to play one of the best teams in the AFC.
The Steelers look vulnerable
The Steelers defense is among the best in the NFL. Even when they went up against Washington on short rest, they showed up and did their job. They held Washington to just 23 points, and if not for a late turnover by the offense would have allowed even less. That’s the curse of playing with an older and inconsistent quarterback. Ben Roethlisberger is better than his backups, but he isn’t the elite quarterback he once was.

The Steelers offense only works if they can get their playmakers the ball in space. Top defenses haven’t had all that much trouble stopping them. Over the last two weeks, the Steelers have put up 19 points against the Ravens and 17 against Washington and this week will be no different. They come up against another tough defense in Buffalo on Sunday Night Football tonight, so they need Roethlisberger to find his groove. If he struggles again, the offense may be stuck in neutral for a third straight week.
The Bills are red hot
Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills have been on fire. They’ve won five of their last six, and they’re a miracle hail mary away from six wins a row. Unlike the struggling Steelers offense, Josh Allen’s Bills have been lighting up the scoreboard. The Bills have put up at least 27 points in each of their last four games.
The defense has also rebounded the past two weeks, allowing just 17 and 24 points. As a result, the Bills are one of the hottest teams in the NFL and a terrible matchup for the Steelers right now.
The Bills are catching the Steelers at the right time and, on paper at least, it looks like the Bills are in line for win number 10.

Week 14 NFL Power Rankings
Pro Football Network’s Senior NFL Analyst Matt Williamson (former NFL Scout and ESPN Analyst) released his NFL Week 14 Power Rankings following the game on Wednesday Night Football in Week 13.
This week, Williamson has the Steelers tumbling down the rankings a bit as a result of their loss to the Washington Football Team. Meanwhile, the Bills are among the top five teams in NFL due to their hot play, If not for a hail mary, they’d be in the middle of a six-game winning streak.
