‘There’s Not a Throw He Can’t Make’ – Steve Sarkisian Explains Why $4.5M NIL-Valued QB Is Built for the NFL

Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian praises former starting quarterback Quinn Ewers ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian recently discussed his former starting quarterback, Quinn Ewers, while appearing on the popular “Herd w/Colin Cowherd” show alongside Colin Cowherd. In the interview appearance, Sarkisian praised Ewers and his skills ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft

Sarkisian made clear that he thought Ewers was ready for the National Football League and that there was not a throw Ewers couldn’t successfully make while on the football field.

    Steve Sarkisian Praises Quinn Ewers

Sarkisian highlighted how Ewers was pro-ready and had the talents to succeed at the professional level. The clip of the video was posted on ‘@TheHerd’ X (formerly Twitter) profile.

“‘The media coverage and brand sets you up for the NFL. There’s not a throw he can’t make.’ @CoachSark breaks down what makes Quinn Ewers a pro-ready QB,” the post was captioned.

Sarkisian coached Ewers for the past few seasons at Texas, helping develop the quarterback into one of the top QBs available in the 2025 NFL Draft. With Arch Manning expected to take over as starting QB of the Longhorns, Ewers originally expressed his desire to return to college football next year and potentially transfer to a different school, however, ultimately decided to declare for the NFL Draft in the end.

Quinn Ewers 2025 NFL Draft Projection

This past campaign, Ewers was great for the Longhorns and was a major reason behind the program advancing to the College Football Playoffs semi-final. Though the program lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes in that game, Ewers showcased his strong clutch play and impressive composure in the pocket. Ewers finished the campaign with 3,472 passing yards, 33 total touchdowns, and 12 interceptions on the year for Texas.

In PFSN’s latest 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Ewers was selected No. 100 overall by the Los Angeles Rams.

“Whatever happens this offseason, the Rams need to be thinking about their future at quarterback. Whether it is Matthew Stafford or Jimmy Garoppolo, there needs to be someone to develop other than Stetson Bennett.

Quinn Ewers was once viewed as a potential first-round pick, so he certainly has the pedigree to be a future NFL starter. He commands the field with exceptional arm talent and the ability to dissect defenses under any conditions. He thrives under pressure and attacks every level of the field. Unfortunately, injury concerns and boundary consistency have capped his upside, but there is certainly room for growth if he can stay healthy.”
