Steelers vs. Chiefs Prediction, Pick: Ben Roethlisberger and Patrick Mahomes set for a QB battle in Week 16?

The Pittsburgh Steelers hope to end the Kansas City Chiefs' winning streak. Here's our Steelers vs. Chiefs pick and prediction for Week 16.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will attempt to end the Kansas City Chiefs’ winning streak in Week 16. They’re coming off of a big win against the Tennessee Titans, and they will be playing in a must-win game again this week. Kansas City isn’t in as dire of a situation, as they’re the only team in the AFC with double-digit wins at this point. In this article, you’ll see the NFL odds along with our pick and prediction for the Steelers vs. Chiefs.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Kansas City Chiefs pick, prediction | Week 16

    • Spread: Chiefs -9.5 (Odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook)
    • Moneyline: Steelers +340, Chiefs -450
    • Over/Under: 46

Kansas City enters Week 16 with the longest active win streak in the NFL. They haven’t lost since October 24, bringing a seven-game win streak into this contest. The Chiefs boast wins over the Green Bay Packers (without Aaron Rodgers), Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders (twice), Los Angeles Chargers, and more during this streak.

The Chiefs are winning by an average of 14.9 points per game over their last seven games. That number is a bit skewed by a 48-9 win against the Las Vegas Raiders, though. During their win streak, the Chiefs have played in three one-possession games, including an overtime win against Los Angeles.

Although Kansas City hasn’t always looked impressive over this streak, they’re playing at an extremely high level, as it’s difficult to win seven consecutive games in the NFL.

    Steelers vs. Chiefs betting trends

The Steelers have struggled against the spread (ATS) this season. They enter this game with a 6-8 ATS record, covering in only 42.9% of their games. They’ve quietly performed well as underdogs, covering in 62.5% of their games as underdogs this season.

The Chiefs haven’t found much more success in 2021. They own a 7-7 ATS record, covering in exactly 50% of their games thus far. Kansas City’s also struggled at home this season, covering in only 37.5% of those games. With that said, the Chiefs have covered the spread in each of their last five contests.

    Steelers vs. Chiefs prediction

It isn’t surprising to see the Chiefs favored, but this line is surprisingly wide. The Steelers are coming off of an impressive win against Tennessee, while the Chiefs have struggled to produce consistently.

Kansas City is an offense that can blow anyone out if they’re on, but they don’t have as much on the line this late in the season. Yes, the Chiefs are playing for the No. 1 overall seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. However, the Steelers are playing for a postseason berth.

Pittsburgh likely needs to win out to have a shot at making the playoffs. Although I don’t anticipate them winning this game, they could keep it surprisingly close throughout.

Steelers vs. Chiefs Prediction: Chiefs 28, Steelers 20
