    ‘Forever the Prince of Peace’ — Steelers QB Russell Wilson, Ciara Mourn Loss of Pet

    Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife, singer Ciara, passed along some sad news on Thursday, Jan. 16.

    Wilson announced via social media that they lost their beloved pet of 12 years, Prince.

    Wilson posted this lovely message about Prince via X (formerly known as Twitter):

    “‘Prince’ 12 years ago you came into my life. I got you my rookie year & you have been a blessing to our family with so many memories, hugs and kisses from our 4 kids and us. You will forever be a part of us. Today was a hard day. But you overcame cancer 2x and lived 12 years when most live 6. Heaven got a good one! Forever the Prince of Peace. Love you”

    Wilson has often shared his milestones and ups and downs on social media, especially when it comes to expressing his love for family. He often shows love toward his wife and his kids, especially around their birthdays.

    Wilson’s expression of grief over his beloved pet is not new for him or his family, which is why he has garnered so many fans throughout the years: his willingness to share his personal life with fans, including this situation.

    NFL Fans Grieve With Wilson

    NFL fans across the board shared their grief and their condolences with Wilson as he mourns his beloved pet, Prince.

    “Man, I’m really sorry. Condolences to your entire family on your loss. Prince was blessed to be with such a loving family. Dogs ….. we’re not worthy,” replied one user.

    “I know the feeling.. happened recently & a good friend of mine told me something that stuck with me & helped me. always try to remember they were a part of your life but you were their WHOLE life he loved you more than anything. keep that head up prayers to you and the family,” shared another user.

    “Russell nothing matches the agape love from our canines. Hope reflecting on the many great memories will be a source of comfort in the days ahead to aid in healing your grief.
    Peace 🕊️,” said one fan.

    Many fans shared their love and grief with Wilson, which will hopefully bring him and his family comfort during this time. It is almost certain that when the Wilson family gets another family pet, he may share that news with his fans on social media in the coming weeks.
