Soppe’s NFL Divisional Round Fantasy Football RB Rankings: Do You Need To Start James Cook, Gus Edwards, and Devin Singletary?

    Published on

The fantasy RB rankings this week feature some of the game's best. How do they stack up during the Divisional Round of the playoffs?

The fantasy football RB rankings for this round of the playoffs are a bit unique. We all seem to be content with labeling two teams as elite, but one of them has an All-Pro running back who is as valuable a commodity as there is in our game, while the other doesn’t have an option that we have a ton of confidence in.

What do the RB rankings look like heading into the Divisional Round of the 2023-2024 NFL playoffs?

Which RB Should You Start in Fantasy Football?

Of course, every league will offer tweaks (player limits per team, unique scoring bonuses, etc.), so use these as a guide more than anything. Or, hit me up on social media with your specific situation and I’ll advise as best I can!

Before I get to the positional rankings, many fantasy managers may take part in rest-of-playoff formats and/or are just curious as to how I see the remainder of the postseason playing out.

It should go without saying that the script you project for these games greatly impacts the usage, and thus the rankings, or these running backs. Here’s how I see this round (and the remainder of the season) playing out:

    Conference Champion: Ravens

    NFC Playoff Picks

Saturday: San Francisco 49ers over Green Bay Packers
Sunday: Tampa Bay Buccaneers over Detroit Lions

    Conference Champion: 49ers

Top RB To Start in the Divisional Round

Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers (vs. Packers)

You’re doing fantasy football wrong if I have to sell you on McCaffrey. The man has been nothing short of special during his time with the 49ers, and with consecutive weeks off to rest, it’s hard to expect anything but greatness from my 1.01 in 2024 fantasy football rankings.

McCaffrey’s versatility is second to none, and that elevates his floor/ceiling to a week-winning level.

    • Weeks 12-17: 1,797 rushing-yard pace for 17 games

There wasn’t a player not named Christian McCaffrey who ran for 1,200 yards this season.

    • Weeks 7-13: 714-yard and 8.5-touchdown pace as a pass catcher

That’s a better fantasy line than Baltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers. McCaffrey can do it all, and that’s what you need on your fantasy roster this time of year!
