Skip Bayless Slams Dallas Cowboys for Quiet Free Agency

There aren’t many NFL analysts who openly cheer on a team more than Skip Bayless does the Dallas Cowboys. If you tune in to Undisputed every day, there is a 99.9% chance that the Cowboys will be talked about multiple times each day.

While Bayless is a fan, he is also not afraid to put his team on blast, and he did that today on his show due to the team’s lack of moves in free agency.

Dallas Cowboys and NFC East Rivals Only Making Skip Bayless More Frustrated

Adding to the insult of the Cowboys not making moves is the fact that the other teams in the NFC East have been especially busy.

The Philadelphia Eagles will sign running back Saquon Barkley away from the New York Giants, and Philly brought back safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson after he left for Detroit last year.

While they lost Barkley, the Giants made a monster move on Monday, as they traded a second-round pick and a fifth-round pick to the Carolina Panthers for star pass rusher Brian Burns.

Even the Washington Commanders, who have already stolen defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to be their head coach, brought in guys like Dorance Armstrong, Austin Ekeler, and Jeremy Chinn.

With Dallas’ rivals upgrading, it’s at least somewhat understandable that Bayless is frustrated, as the only move the Cowboys have made is re-signing long-snapper Trent Sieg.

Running Back a Glaring Need for the Cowboys

One of the most frustrating parts if you are a Cowboys fan is the fact that all these running backs are signing, while Dallas has a glaring need at that position.

Last year, the Cowboys rushed for 112.9 yards per game, which ranked 14th in the league. Add the fact the team’s leading rusher from last year, Tony Pollard (1,005 yards), is now in Tennessee, and there is absolutely a need for the team to bring in a starting RB.

The current starter for Dallas would be Rico Dowdle, who has only 385 rushing yards over his career. The team had been linked to Derrick Henry for some time, but he ended up signing with Baltimore on a two-year, $16 million deal. Dallas could possibly look at bringing a guy like Ezekiel Elliott back or could draft a rookie running back, but either way, the team needs to make an addition.

There’s still plenty of time for the Cowboys to make moves, as free agency hasn’t even “technically” started. However, Cowboys fans across the country are going to continue panicking until they see moves being made. And, for Skip Bayless. You can bet there are a few more rants on Undisputed in store.
