    We made it, the NFL season is finally upon us. The Kansas City Chiefs are ready to host the up-and-coming Detroit Lions on Thursday night to signal the start of the NFL season and the Chiefs’ quest to defend their title. It won’t be easy as the Lions seem to be the darling of the league, with most people thinking head coach Dan Campbell and his boys are about to take their game to another level in 2023.

    However, before the official game can take place, we need to get the 2023 NFL kickoff started with the singing of the national anthem. Who is singing the national anthem at the opening night game this year?

    2023 NFL Kickoff: Who Is Singing the National Anthem?

    Nationally recognized Gospel singer Natalie Grant will be singing the national anthem before kickoff on Thursday night. Natalie will sing the national anthem while the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard will present the colors. There will also be a flyover that will be conducted by the 110th and 393rd Bomb Squadron’s B-2 Stealth Bombers out of Whiteman Air Force Base.

    Who Is Natalie Grant?

    Grant is a nine-time Grammy nominee and five-time Gospel Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year winner who was born on Dec. 21, 1971, in Seattle, Washington. She is best known for her album titled “Awaken,” which was her breakthrough success piece in 2005 and would end up going RIAA-certified gold.

    Grant has released 11 studio albums in her career, the first of which being self-titled “Natalie Grant” in 1999, with her latest titled “No Stranger” in 2020. Additionally, Grant dove into the world of books and has been credited with six different bibliographies about her life.

    Who Is Singing Lift Every Voice and Sing?

    As has become customary at NFL games, there will also be a performance of Lift Every Voice and Sing ahead of the 2023 NFL kickoff game. In an effort to keep the talent local, the NFL has invited the Kansas City Boys Choir and Kansas City Girls Choir to perform the song on Thursday night. This is a great opportunity for the boys and girls and promises to be the biggest stage they’ve performed at just yet.

    With all the musical talent that is in store for us, it promises to be a great night from start to finish. As fans, we can sit back, relax, and enjoy the fact that after a long offseason — NFL football is finally back.
