The 2022 fantasy football season is truly underway as drafts fire off across the nation, meaning now is the time to dive into Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs’ ADP to determine whether or not fantasy managers are receiving a value on draft day. Part of the best QB/WR combo in the NFL, how soon should managers select Diggs in upcoming fantasy drafts?
Stefon Diggs ADP | Is he worth his current price in fantasy drafts?
As we draw closer to the prime draft season for fantasy football, Diggs currently has an ADP of 12, coming off the board as the WR5. For comparison, Gabriel Davis (WR28) is going around 55 picks later (ADP 67).
In PFN’s 2022 fantasy football redraft rankings, Diggs is currently the WR3 with an ADP of 6, showing a more bullish outlook. I have Diggs as my WR4 and 10th overall player.
I am all-in on Diggs, which shouldn’t really be a surprise given how great he has been over his career, especially since joining the Bills and teaming with Josh Allen. Due to the fluctuation of Buffalo’s receivers this offseason, Diggs and Allen are the best combination remaining, meaning the chemistry is already there.
If I am in the back end of a draft, I’m starting with Diggs, plus Alvin Kamara, D’Andre Swift, or CeeDee Lamb depending on the format. Diggs has been one of the most consistent receivers, but with 40-point upside on a Bills offense which I feel goes to another level in 2022. If you don’t get Diggs, I would make sure to draft Gabriel Davis for exposure to this team. He is all the way up as my WR17 but is a massive value at his ADP.
Stefon Diggs’ projected fantasy value in 2022
After posting 127 receptions, 1,535 yards, and eight touchdowns in his first season with the Bills, 2021 was a slight regression for Diggs. The funny thing is that a “down year” for him is a career year for others. That’s just how good he is.
Playing in 17 games, Diggs still hauled in 103 of 163 targets for 1,225 yards and 10 TDs to finish as the WR7 in fantasy (10th in PPR/game at 16.8). Diggs was No. 10 amongst WRs in team target share (27%) and was 12th in intended air yards (35.4%). However, given the vertical nature of this offense, his 35.4% was still 1,841 air yards, the second-most in the NFL.
This level of success and consistency is nothing new for Diggs, as he is one of the safest picks in your weekly lineup. Since joining the Bills, Diggs has averaged 8.6 PPR/game in his 33 active contests from 2020 to 2021. Over that same time, he finished as a WR1 (top 12) in 27% of his games and inside the top 24 (WR2+) in 53%.
Diggs is a top-four wide receiver in fantasy for 2022, along with Cooper Kupp, Justin Jefferson, and Ja’Marr Chase. If you get the chance to draft him, do it, and don’t look back as Diggs seems locked into 100 receptions, over 1,300 yards, and nine TDs with plenty of room for more along the way for the eventual, dare I say it, Super Bowl champs.
