Should you select Rashod Bateman in fantasy drafts?

Will Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman produce enough to be on your fantasy football roster, and what is his current ADP in fantasy drafts?

The Baltimore Ravens traded Marquise Brown this offseason, opening the door for wide receiver Rashod Bateman to star. Will Bateman produce enough to be on your fantasy football roster, and what is his current ADP in fantasy drafts?

Rashod Bateman ADP | Is he worth his current price in fantasy drafts?

Bateman’s current ADP is 86th overall as the 34th wide receiver selected in fantasy drafts. This means he’s being taken in the seventh round of standard leagues. Other players drafted in his range include Elijah Moore and Hunter Renfrow.

Our expert 2022 wide receiver rankings are right in line with Bateman’s ADP, as he’s sitting No. 82 overall as the 34th receiver for PPR leagues. Therefore, he is worth his current price. He might even be a slight steal.

The Ravens have zero proven receiving depth besides their tight end position. Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely are two much more prominent threats to stealing opportunities from Bateman. Andrews was first-team All-Pro last year.

Bateman’s projected fantasy value in 2022

It’s hard to know what Bateman’s usage and upside really is. He was targeted only six times in the red zone last season and caught one score. Brown had eight receptions on 16 targets for 43 yards and two touchdowns.

Baltimore’s offense doesn’t value their receivers within the red zone. That’s a major issue for any starting fantasy receiver.

Lamar Jackson is an excellent quarterback, but he’s not given the free reign to throw the ball into the red zone as often as his peers. He averaged just over four red-zone attempts per game, compared to Josh Allen’s leading mark of 7.5.

Bateman’s ADP points toward being valued as a No. 3 or No. 4 fantasy receiver. He’s more of a high-risk pick who could bring targets and yards but not scores. Be wary of overdrafting someone of his profile.
