Should you select JuJu Smith-Schuster in fantasy drafts?

Will Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster produce enough to be on your fantasy football roster, and what is his current ADP in fantasy drafts?

The Kansas City Chiefs overhauled their wide receiving corps this offseason after trading Tyreek Hill and signing JuJu Smith-Schuster. Will Smith-Schuster produce enough to be on your fantasy football roster, and what is his current ADP in fantasy drafts?

JuJu Smith-Schuster ADP | Is he worth his current price in fantasy drafts?

Smith-Schuster’s current ADP is 74th overall as the 32nd wide receiver selected in fantasy drafts. This means he’s being taken in the seventh round of standard leagues. Other players drafted in his range include Adam Thielen and Amari Cooper.

He currently sits 27th in our 2022 wide receiver rankings and 68th overall. Thus, the PFN team is slightly higher on him compared to his ADP in fantasy drafts.

As the presumptive top target in a high-volume Kansas City passing game, Smith-Schuster should do quite well. The Chiefs debuted a free-flowing passing game in the preseason. The question fantasy managers must have is whether Smith-Schuster can score as well as he did in three of his first four seasons in Pittsburgh.

Smith-Schuster’s projected fantasy value in 2022

If Smith-Schuster totals seven or more touchdowns, as he did in 2017, 2018, and 2020, he has the ability to be at least a good Flex option for fantasy managers. He’ll benefit from Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid after producing well in an offense that wasn’t always tailored for his success.

A good example of this is his yards-per-catch average from his first three years to the last two. He topped out at 15.8 yards per catch as a rookie but averaged just 8.6 over the previous two seasons. Expect Kansas City to create more explosive plays and use Smith-Schuster in unique roles near the goal line.

JuJu ranked ninth in red-zone scoring with 15 catches on 19 targets for 115 yards and six TDs in 2020. Should he rival that production, he’ll be one of the biggest steals in fantasy football this season. You want that type of upside from his draft range, making him a must-target playmaker.
