There has been no shortage of takes pouring out of Radio Row and NFL Honors going into Super Bowl 58. With the media descending upon Las Vegas — along with seemingly every noteworthy player and celebrity — there have been plenty of opinions that have turned heads.
Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby — from the Red Carpet going into NFL Honors — offered his thoughts on who should receive the prestigious NFL MVP award… and he did not pick Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson.
Maxx Crosby Claims Tyreek Hill Will Win NFL MVP Award
Crosby has built a reputation for being one of the most dominant pass rushers in the league that can make life a living hell for opposing QBs on a snap-by-snap basis. With that in mind, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him claim that a QB that he had troubles bringing down should be this year’s Most Valuable Player.
Instead, in an interview with NFL Network, Crosby claimed that Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill should be the one bringing home some impressive hardware on Thursday evening. When asked who he thinks will be the 2023-2024 NFL MVP, Crosby said:
“That’s a tough question. There’s a lot of great players. If I had to pick one, I’d probably have to say Tyreek Hill.”

Through the first half of the season, Hill was on pace to be in the conversation for the MVP award. Hill had eight performances with over 100 receiving yards through the first 13 games of the year, but the offense sputtered over the final four outings and Hill’s production took a dip.
There’s simply no denying his game-changing speed and big play ability, which makes sense as to why Crosby would recommend Hill to win the NFL’s highest honor this year. In the matchup between the Raiders and Dolphins this year, Hill walked out of that game with a jaw-dropping 10 receptions for 146 yards and one touchdown.
After witnessing that type of dominance firsthand, it adds up as to why Crosby would “cast his vote” for Hill. However, it’s incredibly rare for any position other than QB to win the league’s most coveted award. With Hill’s drop-off in production over the final few games of the year, he may have removed himself from consideration among voters.

Even with the news that Hill didn’t bring home the MVP Award, the fact that defensive players in the league are viewing him as the correct choice goes to show how much of an impact he has on their game plan week in and week out. Regardless of the outcome of the award, Hill’s a special player.
