NFL legend Deion Sanders never fails to entertain fans, whether it is at the cost of taking a jab at his own personal life. Before his team Colorado Buffaloes’ historic Alamo Bowl game against BYU, Sanders and the management arranged a luncheon for all the members of the program. Colorado royalty Miss Peggy was also present at the event and Coach Prime made sure to give a warm shoutout to her.
Deion Sanders Makes Hilarious Remarks About His Recent Date With Miss Peggy
On Friday night, the entire Buffs clan united for one last time before taking on the BYU at the Alamo Bowl. It was also a farewell party for NFL draft prospects who are expected to go pro in 2025.
Coach Prime’s son Shedeur and Shilo Sanders were also part of the event. While giving his speech, Sanders mentioned having 99-year-old Peggy for the game is a dream come true moment. He had promised her to make all the arrangements for Colorado’s postseason matchup even before the 2024 college football season started. And now that it has turned out to be a reality, the Hall of Famer couldn’t help but greet her for the historic game.
🔥 Coach Prime & Special Ms. Peggy
“We set out 1 goal. To get Ms. Peggy to a Bowl Game. That’s my most beautiful date I have ever had. And she’s not gonna divorce me like the other 2 did. Or was it the other way around?”

“We didn’t set out to say we’re going to go to the playoffs. We didn’t give you a number of wins. We set out with one goal, and that was to get Miss Peggy to a bowl game,” Sanders said proudly.
“We did that. Didn’t we miss Peggy? That’s my most beautiful date I have ever had, and she’s not going to divorce me like the other two did. Or was it the other way around? I don’t know,” he added, cracking up the entire crowd.
Emotional Moment for Coach Prime As He Bids Adieu To Star Athletes
It is a new beginning for Colorado and Sanders when he enters the 2025 season without his sons and top talents that helped him uplift the brand value of this program. All the way from Jackson State to Boulder, it has been a long journey for the former Cowboys legend.
Before entering the game, Coach Prime said that it would be an emotional moment for him since next year he won’t have his senior players by his side. “I’ve been trying to shy away from that moment,” Sanders said to reporters on Friday.
“This is it … It’s gonna be something to behold. I don’t know how I’m gonna handle it,” he added per SI. Will Sheppard, Jimmy Horn Jr., Travis Hunter, Shilo Sanders, Shedeur Sanders, and others will hit the draft boards in 2025 from Colorado.
