Meanwhile, there were some fans who weren’t happy with Sanders getting ranked at 20.
“20 is crazy smh,” one fan wrote.
“They on Dillon Gabriel’s meat bad this year,” another wrote.
“At number 20? The most accurate QB of all time? The guy who walked in the door throwing for 400 yards? Smh. If it’s a player ranking? Team success is not included in the evaluation. It’s no way there were 18 better players,” another fan said.

Which QBs Were Ranked Ahead of Sanders in the List?
It comes as a surprise to some fans after not seeing Sanders ranked higher than No. 20. This is understandable given the quarterback led the 4-8 Buffaloes program to 9-4 in 2024, along with the team’s first bowl appearance since 2016.
Sanders was fourth in the country with 4,134 passing yards along with 37 touchdowns, which only comes second to Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward in FBS.
At No. 9, ESPN ranked Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who led the program to an undefeated run during the regular season before being defeated by the Ohio State Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff.
Finally, Ward was placed third. The signal-caller led the FBS in total QB rating (88.7), passing touchdowns (39), and completions of 20 yards or more (74), according to ESPN.
Ward and Sanders are expected to be the first two quarterbacks off the draft board come April.
