Shedeur Sanders Reveals His Draft Plans, Will Follow in Coach Prime’s Footsteps

Colorado Buffaloes quarterback and top NFL prospect Shedeur Sanders reveals his 2025 NFL Draft night plans in recent video.

Earlier in the week, Colorado Buffaloes star quarterback Shedeur Sanders revealed the plan being discussed for his NFL Draft night later in the year. In a video released to YouTube, Sanders revealed that his group will be spending draft night in Colorado, and not at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the actual location of the selection process.

Sanders enjoyed a remarkable campaign as the starting quarterback of the Buffaloes, leading them to an impressive 9-3 regular season record on the year and a fourth-place finish in the Big 12 Conference. In addition, he threw for 4,134 passing yards, 37 passing touchdowns, and only 10 interceptions on the year.

What Did Shedeur Sanders Reveal About His Draft Night Plans?

Sanders was asked about the rumors of his father, Prime Time Deion Sanders, not attending the 2025 NFL Draft live.

“Your dad mentioned on the podcast that he won’t be at the draft. What are your draft plans?” he was asked.

Sanders explained how he would be hosting an event in Colorado, something that means that he will not be present live for the draft in Green Bay.

“I think we are doing it in Colorado. I’m not going. I don’t know too many details about it but I know it is gonna be in Colorado,” he stated.

Though Sanders has made clear that he will not be at the iconic Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, on draft night, he is expected to be one of the first players drafted on that evening. In Pro Football Network’s recent 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Sanders was selected No. 1 overall by the New York Giants.

“The Giants have created a massive quarterback crisis. The worst thing? Most saw it coming. This means that they will have to take a swing at the market this offseason, whether by paying a free agent or using the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

They draft Shedeur Sanders, who has transferable skills and can start as a rookie. The Colorado quarterback has excellent pocket control and impressive throws on the move and also possesses the processing, mechanics, and field vision to have an impact in Year 1.”

While the Giants’ win last weekend lowered their draft place and made the projection more difficult to accomplish, there is no doubt about the positive impact Sanders can have on any quarterback-needy NFL franchise. Though it remains to be seen definitively where Sanders is drafted, it is clear that he will not be live in Green Bay for the event, but instead in Colorado.
