‘Shedeur Sanders Got Sacked More Than Any QB in History’ – Pat McAfee Drops Massive Praise for Coach Prime’s Son

Shedeur Sanders received a nice shoutout from Pat McAfee for his insane ability to bounce back despite taking big hits.

Shedeur Sanders is tough. Every time he got hit, he remained unfazed, got up for the team, and managed to record a terrific college football career. He was pivotal in leading the program to a 9-4 record in the 2024 season and making a postseason bowl game appearance for the first time since 2020.

These achievements made him a top choice in NFL circles. Heading into the draft, Sanders is a hot prospect and is expected to go off the boards as a top-five pick. Recently, Pat McAfee spoke highly of Coach Prime’s son and what makes him so unique compared to other quarterbacks.

Pat McAfee Makes Eye-Catching Remarks About Shedeur Sanders

The 23-year-old passer was one of the most sacked quarterbacks in the history of college football. Back in 2023, he took the hit 52 times for 458 yards and ranked second for most sacks that season.

The trend continued in the 2024 season, where he got sacked 42 times for 356 yards and ranked No. 4 in the country. Recounting his grit, Pat McAfee and NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared their opinions about Sanders.

“Shedeur is not gonna be here working with guys that he hasn’t had timing with. He’s gonna wait to do it at Pro Day,” Rapoport updated on the Colorado quarterback’s availability for the NFL Combine to be held from Feb. 27 to March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

“I think the thing that doesn’t get talked about with Shedeur is how tough Shedeur is. He is so tough. Shedeur got sacked more than anyone, any quarterback in the history of football, and he got up every single time,” McAfee said on his show.

“So he has the watches and the flash and everything like that. But he does not like it; it’s not like he’s a prima donna or soft, like he’s the complete opposite. He feels like he has to go the complete opposite direction because of who he is and the life that he has lived. And everybody thinking that, ‘Oh, you just get this because you’re Deion’s kid and everything.’

“So it’s like he can spin it, and obviously, he’s got Tom Brady as a mentor since high school. Tom Brady owns the Raiders and ran the entire interview process out there too,” McAfee added to his explanation.

According to the current NFL Draft order, the Tennessee Titans and the New York Giants could likely become his landing spots. Meanwhile, teams like the Las Vegas Raiders are also in contention if the top teams pass on him.
