Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders is set to become one of the first players selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. Although some scouts have doubts about how well his skills will translate to the NFL, most draft experts still view him as a top-two QB in the draft alongside Miami’s Cam Ward. On Saturday, he spoke about how someone he has always looked up to is former NFL QB Michael Vick.

Shedeur Sanders Discusses Michael Vick
Michael Vick is not someone who had a perfect career. He had a college career that earned him an induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. However, his NFL career was riddled by controversy. Most notably, he missed the 2007 and 2008 NFL seasons because he was in jail for dog-fighting charges.
However, since returning from prison, Vick appears to have grown as a person. he is now the head coach at Norfolk State. On Saturday, Sanders did an interview with ESPN’s Kevin Clark and spoke about how Vick has been a great mentor for him.
“The main one is Mike Vick,” Sanders said. “So I sat down and talked to him a lot at the East-West Shrine Game. It was just good, I connected with him. We’re playing in the game Saturday together which will be fun but I just being around him, talking to him, hearing his insight.”
Sanders was then asked by the interviewer about what the biggest piece was that he got from Vick.
“Just keep doing you. It’s hard to give one piece of advice because it’s about life. It’s about on the field, off the field. It’s different levels to everything. It might feel… It might’ve hit home right at that time you know whenever we talked about and discussed it, but every conversation we had was very impactful to me.”
