Deion Sanders’ son, Shedeur Sanders, and Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward are the top two quarterbacks in this year’s NFL Draft class, with constant debate about which one is a better player expected up until April’s draft.
Some analysts pick Ward to go No. 1, while others pick the Colorado quarterback to take the No. 1 overall pick’s title.
While the NFL world argues over who’s better, Ward and Sanders share a good bond and often work out together during the offseason.

Shedeur Sanders Reveals His Probable Reaction if Cam Ward Goes No. 1
Sanders visited New Orleans for the NFL Honors event as well as the Super Bowl 59 showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
During a sit-down interview, the Colorado quarterback was asked about his relationship with Ward; Sanders kept it real and said that he thought it was cool that he and Ward were close. Otherwise, the media would try and put them against each other.
The Colorado quarterback also clarified that what they say to each other in the viral clips is just them playing with one another. He expressed gratitude for their friendship because people often use quotes out of context to push a narrative.
“It’s cool that we’re close because if we weren’t, then the media would definitely try to pin us against each other. A lot of stuff we just are saying, even in the viral clips, we genuinely like to play around crazy. We definitely play around crazy, and that’s just the relationship, you know? So it’s good that we have a relationship because a lot of people try to take things and put it out of context and anything, and it’s just childish.”

If he doesn't go #1 would he hold a grudge?

Sanders was also asked whether he would hold a grudge if the Miami quarterback took the No. 1 spot, to which he replied by asking why he would be mad.
The Colorado quarterback further explained that these are good problems to have and emphasized the fact that they could be in a way worse situation. Hence, it doesn’t really matter to him because even if he goes No. 1, especially if he’s not fit for the team.
Sanders stated that the numbers don’t matter to him as long as he’s going to a team where he actually fits.
“Why would I be mad? These are good problems to have.”
The 2025 NFL Draft is set to take place in Green Bay, Wisc., from April 24-26.
