Shedeur Sanders Offers Insight to Fitness Journey Ahead of NFL Draft
Shedeur Sanders is known as one of the best quarterbacks in this year’s draft class, so it becomes even more crucial for him to keep working on himself.
During the latest episode of his podcast called “2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders,” the Colorado quarterback discussed how his fitness journey is going.
Sanders shared that he’s focusing on weight training currently and is spending more time in the weight room. He also discussed how resources gathered by his dad, Coach Prime, help him stay in the zone and learn about things.
The Colorado QB opened up about focusing more on the small details, sitting with Colorado’s offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. He also discussed that he needs to spend more time in Boulder, Colo., and spend more time with Shurmur to fully understand things and how they did it.
“Right now it’s more like weight-gaining. Staying in the weight room more. … My walk-around weight or my strictly lifting weight won’t be the same as my playing weight,” Sanders said.
“All the resources that my dad has, just giving me prep for everything. Understanding the whys in the offense we ran … the small details. … Coach Pat sat me down, I got to go to Colorado and spend more time with him so I can fully understand the why behind everything and the way that we did it.” Sanders said.
In PFSN’s latest seven-round 2025 NFL mock draft, Ben Rolfe predicted Sanders to be the second overall pick and go to the Cleveland Browns.
“While the Cleveland Browns may not be the most desirable landing spot for off-field elements for Shedeur Sanders, it is far from a bad situation for the Colorado quarterback. The Browns have a lot of pieces in place around Sanders and were really only held back by the quarterback play in 2024,” Rolfe said.

“Sanders is a promising NFL prospect. He is a pocket passer with enough mobility to make him effective. There are concerns about his arm strength, but he mitigates those with his compact release and impressive accuracy. Those mechanics can hide concerns when pressured, which is a concern with the Browns’ offensive line ranking 20th last season.”
The 2025 NFL Draft is set to take place from April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisc.
