Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders' visit to New York ahead of the Heisman Trophy award ceremony has fueled his draft speculation.

With the Heisman Trophy clock ticking down and the results to be announced on Saturday, Coach Prime’s sons, Shedeur Sanders and Deion Sanders Jr., are taking this time to explore the concrete jungle. After being seen courtside at Madison Square Garden for the game between the New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks, the two brothers were seen strolling the streets of the Big Apple.

Shedeur’s presence in New York has once more galvanized the rumor mill. With the quarterback projected to be drafted in Round 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft, the current front-runners to pick him are the New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Giants are desperately looking for a franchise quarterback after letting go of former first-round pick Daniel Jones earlier this season. Head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen are reportedly scouting quarterbacks, with the latter having been seen in Boulder at Shedeur’s practices in November.

Meanwhile, the Raiders also need a QB. In a recently resurfaced video, Coach Prime was filmed jokingly telling Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce to draft “those Sanders boys” at an event in Las Vegas.

And according to Pro Football Network’s latest mock by Ryan Gosling, Pierce and the Raiders do exactly that by selecting Shedeur Sanders at No. 2 overall:

“Under the guidance of his father, Shedeur has shown a high football IQ and the ability to make pre-snap reads like an NFL veteran. His compact throwing motion, quick release, and accuracy on short and intermediate throws make him a natural fit for today’s NFL offense.

“The Raiders need an answer at quarterback. Their current QB room, an injured Gardner Minshew, an injured Aidan O’Connell, and a lackluster Desmond Ridder, is simply not it. Shedeur will breathe some life into this Raiders organization, and the swag of the Sanders family will mesh well with Las Vegas.”

Shedeur leads the Big 12 with 3,926 yards and 35 touchdowns. He also was in the Heisman running before the finalists were announced. According to oddsmakers, his teammate Travis Hunter is the front-runner to win the award.
