‘Save Us Shedeur’ Chants Surround the Streets of Cleveland Ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft

After Myles Garrett requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns, fans have been hinting to Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders for help.

The Cleveland Browns are in deep water after their three-win campaign in 2024. Cleveland now needs to build a team from the ground up around the quarterback they’ll potentially select in the 2025 NFL Draft and improve a once-great defense, especially after Myles Garrett requested a trade.

Cleveland Browns Fans Want Shedeur Sanders

However, rebuilding will be difficult for the franchise, considering they remain $30 million over the cap with quarterback Deshaun Watson and his bloated $230 million contract remaining on the books.

Things are not looking good for the Ohio–based team, and the Browns’ only saving grace for now is the draft, where they hold the No. 2 overall pick.

Meanwhile, fans gathered outside Huntington Bank Field, Cleveland’s home turf, to rally behind Garrett. Behind their rally, fans were seen doing Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ signature wrist-up watch pose and had his hit “Perfect Timing” playing.

To add to this, some of them were chanting “Save us, Shedeur!” on live TV, hinting that they want the Browns to draft Sanders to become their franchise signal-caller.

Sanders noticed the love on X, calling it “legendary” in response.

Cleveland’s front office also met with Sanders during the Shrine Bowl practices, with general manager Andrew Berry seemingly impressed with the quarterback after their discussion.

“Shedeur is a really impressive young man,” Berry said of Sanders. “He’s poised. He’s calm. He’s smart, and you can tell that he’s been raised by, quite honestly, a Hall of Fame dad. We’re going to get to know him even more over the course of the spring, but he’s really impressive.”

Sanders, who recorded 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns, would be a great addition for the QB-less addled team, as expectations from Watson have fallen short. However, the Browns also have needs elsewhere on the team, and dual-threat star Travis Hunter, who plays both cornerback and wide receiver, could be another great option for Cleveland.

In Pro Football Network’s latest 7-round mock draft by Jacob Infante, Sanders was passed by the Browns and landed with the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 6 overall. The Browns, meanwhile, elected to take Hunter at No. 2, with the idea that he could exponentially elevate Cleveland’s defense with Garrett potentially no longer on the team.
