Kirk Cousins’ performance against the Los Angeles Chargers contributed heavily to the Atlanta Falcons’ loss in Week 13. The veteran quarterback threw for 245 yards with zero touchdowns and four interceptions.
Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe didn’t mince words when describing the Falcons’ QB’s performance. His words resonated with fans and pundits alike.
Shannon Sharpe Criticizes Kirk Cousins for Blunders Against Chargers
The Falcons have now extended their losing streak to three games. In total, Cousins has thrown six interceptions and zero touchdowns through the three games, with his worst outing obviously coming against the Chargers.
Sharpe took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to call Cousins out.
“WTF was that, COUSINS!!!!!!!. Why just throw the (ball) up like that in the end one? He’s been TERRIBLE 2day and the last couple of weeks,” Sharpe tweeted.

The Falcons are 6-6, but despite their losing form, still sit at the top of the NFC South division. At this point, Atlanta is more than likely to clinch a playoff spot, but that could change if Cousins’ performances don’t improve.
Cousins Takes Blame for Loss
The 36-year-old Cousins has registered 3,052 yards in 12 games this season with 17 touchdowns. Meanwhile, he’s also been intercepted 13 times on the year.
After the game, the four-time Pro Bowler accepted the shortcomings on his part.
“It hurts when you feel like your defense played winning football, you feel like your special teams made big plays, the run game did a solid job,” Cousins said.
“I’ve got to play better. You take responsibility and go back and have to look at it with a critical eye and talk about, ‘OK, how can I make sure this never happens again.’”
This Sunday Cousins will face off against another playoff hopefuls. The Week 14 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings will be at the U.S. Bank Stadium.
