‘Keep Doing What You’re Doing’ – Shannon Sharpe Backs Coach Prime on Quest To Make Shedeur Sanders a Top NFL QB

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has heavily influenced the career decisions of his children, particularly Shilo and Shedeur Sanders. While the world can take it any way they want, Coach Prime’s fatherhood shines through, making sure it’s all in the best interests of his kids.

Shedeur has been under Deion’s guidance since Jackson State. After two seasons there, both followed to Colorado, where they captured mainstream attention by converting a program coming off a one-win season to 9-4 two years later.

Now, though, with Shedeur Sanders heading to the NFL, many critics have called out Coach Prime for too much involvement in his kid’s life.

Shannon Sharpe Commends Deion Sanders as Father to Shedeur Sanders

During a recent episode of ESPN’s “First Take,” a segment surrounding Shedeur Sanders’ recent comments regarding his father’s involvement took place.

Both analysts Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe backed the Pro Football Hall of Famer. Sharpe, the former NFL tight end, particularly emphasized that all the elder Sanders has done was in the best interests of his son.

“So he’s always done everything that revolved around his kid. He’s always done everything in the best interest of his kids time,” Sharpe said. “Keep doing what you’re doing. Do what you do and put your son in the best situation so he can be successful. And then let all the critics and everybody say what they want to say. But at the end of the day, we want what’s best for our children.”

    Smith couldn’t agree more.

“We always downplayed how you always saw him with his kids,” Smith said. “The man is a wonderful father and you could see how much his children love their daddy.”

Shedeur Sanders Defends Father’s Involvement in His Career

When Shedeur Sanders was asked about Coach Prime’s involvement in his career during East-West Shrine Bowl practices, the Buffaloes quarterback defended his father.

“I didn’t know your parents being involved and wanting the best for you was a problem,” he said. “He made sure we understood, ‘We have a nice house, but this is all my stuff. This isn’t your stuff.’”

All this suggests that not only has Deion Sanders been wanting the best for his children, but by saying they have to earn it themselves is a highlight of his fatherhood to instill self-confidence in his children.
