Serena Williams Sends 8-Word Message to Taylor Swift After Pop Star Was Aggressively Booed at Super Bowl 59

Serena Williams had a message for Taylor Swift after fans were booing her appearance on the Jumbotron during the Super Bowl.

Taylor Swift had to know that, coming to the Super Bowl, she would be a target of hate; she probably didn’t know that she’d be booed.

However, Serena Williams sent the singer a message of support after seeing what happened at the Super Bowl.

Serena Williams Sends Taylor Swift a Message

Before the game began, Swift was in the stands, taking in the sights and sounds of the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. However, the crowd wasn’t having any of it. As the broadcast cut to her on the Jumbotron, a torrential shower of boos rained down on her.

The usually cheerful Swift was shell-shocked by the reaction and could be heard wondering, “What’s going on?” It was a stark contrast to the national anthem where the image of President Donald Trump supporting a salute drew a roar from those in attendance.

When Williams saw that Swift was being booed by fans, she tweeted out this message to her: “I love you @taylorswift13 dont listen to those booo!!”

Swift has a star-studded suite with rapper Ice Spice and the three sisters from the band Haim — Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim — sitting alongside her. Alongside them, Travis and Jason Kelce’s parents, Donna and Ed Kelce, are also in the suite.

It was kind of surprising to see Williams tweet about Swift when she has had a busy evening herself.

    Williams Part of Halftime

Fans knew that we’d see Kendrick Lamar and SZA at halftime, but Williams made a surprise appearance and danced during Lamar’s performance of his hit “Not Like Us.”

It might have come as a surprise to some, but Williams has a connection to Lamar in several ways. First of all, the tennis star, like Lamar, is from Compton, Calif., that’s one connection. She is also mentioned in the hit song.

But most importantly, she is in the middle of this feud because of Drake. She and the rapper were rumored to have dated at one point.

But three years ago, in his song “Middle of the Ocean,” the rapper seemed to target her and her husband, calling him a “groupie.”

“Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie/ He claim we don’t got a problem but/ No, boo, it is like you comin’ for sushi/ We might pop up on ’em at will like Suzuki,” Drake said.

That didn’t sit well with Williams or Lamar, who warned Drake to keep Williams out of his mouth; he got that message again at the Super Bowl.
