Jared Hocker NFL Draft Scouting Report | Offensive Line

Positives: Big-bodied lineman who is tough to get around. Bends his knees, blocks with terrific pad level, and fires off the snap. Explosive at the point, effective with his hands, and shows good awareness. Keeps his head on a swivel and stays square.

Negatives: Rarely finishes blocks. Must do a better job with his hand placement. Lumbers about the field and isn’t quick out to the second level. Struggles redirecting and adjusting.

Analysis: Hocker possesses the body type to play at the next level, yet has a very inconsistent game. He lacks balance, does not show dominant strength, and can be all over the place. Hocker is a size prospect who should get consideration for a practice squad this fall, but he needs to improve almost every area of his game.

Ryan McCollum NFL Draft Scouting Report | Offensive Line

Positives: Nice-sized blocker who gets the most from his ability but comes with limited upside. Sets with a wide base, properly places his hands into defenders, and works them throughout the action. Stays square, keeps his head on a swivel, and works hard. Quick out to the second level. Bends his knees and blocks with leverage. Effectively quarterbacks the offensive line.

Negatives: Haphazard in his movements, lacks balance, and struggles to adjust. Rarely finishes blocks.

Analysis: McCollum offers size as well as growth potential, but he’s an average athlete who must improve his blocking balance and strength at the point to have a place at the next level.
