The Denver Broncos had one of the best second-half turnarounds in 2023, and a big reason for their success has been Super Bowl-winning head coach Sean Payton. Payton was traded to the Broncos from the New Orleans Saints ahead of the 2023 season. Shortly after moving to Denver, Payton bought a new home.
Sean Payton’s $4.5 Million House
Payton was sent from the Saints in return for a 2023 first-round pick and a 2024 second-rounder. In addition to Payton, New Orleans also sent a 2024 third-round pick to Denver.
The trade happened in late January, just before the Super Bowl. Yet, it didn’t take long for Payton to find a new home.
While no photos of the house are publicly available, we have details, thanks to the public listing. Payton’s home is located in a gated section of the Belcaro neighborhood and, according to property records, was purchased on March 6.
Payton’s home is 6,000 square feet and costs $4.55 million. It includes four bedrooms, six bathrooms, 11-foot ceilings, and a white oak floor in a herringbone pattern. The home is two stories and includes an elevator and a primary suite with a fireplace and dual closets.
There is also a kitchen with an oversized island and glass wine wall, which holds hundreds of bottles. The home was developed by Raymond Development Group and was originally listed for $4.6 million.
After his trade to the Broncos, Payton signed a five-year contract worth $18 million per year. The contract made him the second-highest-paid coach in the NFL behind only Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots.

Before his coaching career, Payton was a player in his own right. He was a legendary athlete at Eastern Illinois University. He even had his number retired and was put in the Eastern Illinois University Hall of Fame. Payton was not drafted in 1987, but he did try out for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Payton spent the majority of his head coaching career with the Saints from 2006-2021. He did take a one-year hiatus in 2012 when he was suspended due to the Bountygate scandal. His career head coaching regular-season record is 159-96 with a 9-8 record in the postseason.
