Wild Card Weekend is almost here, with the first four teams opening practice and releasing their first injury reports on Tuesday. Ahead of the Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers game, both teams released injury reports that contained several intriguing names on both offense and defense. Let’s take a look at those injury reports and who might be in danger of missing Saturday’s game.

The injury report listed below reflects the status of the various players following Thursday’s practice. We will update the list below as the week progresses and we get further updates on the status of the players for both teams.

    • TE Noah Fant | Cleared (Knee)
    • CB Xavier Crawford | Questionable (Hamstring)
    • DE Shelby Harris | Questionable (Knee)

The Seahawks finished the week with no one ruled out for Wild Card Weekend. It was a surprise to see both Phil Haynes and Xavier Crawford as questionable, with neither practicing during the week. The two players who joined them as questionable are Shelby Harris and DeeJay Dallas. Both Harris and Dallas were able to practice Thursday, giving them a chance to play.

Everyone else who had been on the injury report this week was cleared heading into the first week of the NFL playoffs. From an offensive perspective, having both Lockett and Walker seemingly fully healthy is a huge boost. Meanwhile, on defense, getting Ryan Neal, Tariq Woolen, and veteran option Bruce Irvin cleared will be a huge boost against a strong 49ers offense.

    49ers Injury Report

    • DE Nick Bosa | Cleared (Resting)
    • QB Jimmy Garoppolo | Out (Foot)
    • CB Ambry Thomas | Out (Ankle)
    • DT Arik Armstead | Cleared (Foot/Ankle)
    • G Aaron Banks | Cleared (Ankle/Knee)
    • LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles | Cleared (Neck)
    • DT Javon Kinlaw | Cleared (Knee)
    • RB Christian McCaffrey | Cleared (Knee)
    • OLB Dre Greenlaw | Cleared (Back)
    • DT Kevin Givens | Cleared (Knee)

Heading into gameday, the 49ers have a pretty clean injury report. There are just two players listed on the final injury report, with both having been ruled out. Ambry Thomas’ absence leaves the 49ers short on depth at CB, and it would not be a surprise to see them elevate some defensive backs from the practice squad ahead of Saturday.

It is no real surprise to see Jimmy Garoppolo absent as he continues to deal with his foot injury. There is a chance for him to return during the NFL playoffs, but his exact timetable is unknown. Additionally, there will then be the debate about whether Garoppolo will come back in or they continue to run with Brock Purdy.
