It’s been all change for the New York Jets this offseason. The organization has a new general manager, head coach, and quarterback as it looks to finally make the progress that its talented young roster has promised.
One player who appears to be a fan of the changes is star cornerback Sauce Gardner, who has expressed his approval on social media.

New York Jets Continue Overhaul With Free Agency Moves
After parting ways with head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas during the 2024 season, the Jets have their new leaders in place. Former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn joined the team after the Lions’ Divisional Round loss to the Washington Commanders. New general manager Darren Mougey was brought in from the Denver Broncos, where he spent two years as assistant GM.
With those issues resolved, attention turned to the players, with uncertainty surrounding quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ future with the team as well as his favorite receiver Davante Adams. Both players were released, with Adams later agreeing to a two-year, $46 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams.
With that out of the way, it was time for the Jets to bring in some players, and they were in no mood to hang around. After months of speculation, former Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers QB Justin Fields agreed to a two-year, $40 million deal to become the team’s starting quarterback. Fields ranked No. 42 on PFSN’s Top 121 Free Agents list before agreeing a move to East Rutherford, N.J.

On top of making a bold move on offense, the team agreed to deals with three defensive assets, including re-signing linebacker Jamien Sherwood. Sherwood agreed to a three-year, $45 million deal to stay with New York and is set to be joined by Brandon Stephens and safety Andre Cisco.
Stephens agreed to a three-year, $36 million deal after four years with the Baltimore Ravens. Cisco, a former Jacksonville Jaguars DB, joins after totaling eight interceptions, three forced fumbles, and 1.5 sacks over four years with the AFC South team.
Sauce Gardner Praises Jets for Offseason Business
All of that offseason activity appears to have gone down well with the team’s star cornerback. Gardner has spent three years with the Jets after the team drafted him with the fourth overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Reacting to the team’s offseason movement, Gardner posted a six-word message of approval to his social media: “They snappin in the front office,” Gardner said.
Having hit on standout playmakers Gardner, Garrett Wilson, and Breece Hall in just one draft in 2022, the Jets have, so far, failed to capitalize. Gardner’s approval should be a welcome sign for Mougey, who’ll face the challenge of re-signing/extending all three over the next 12 months.
