Saquon Barkley has never been one to shy away from the big stage, and now, ahead of Super Bowl 59, he’s making an unexpected pitch. With the Philadelphia Eagles set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of Super Bowl 57, Barkley has turned his attention to one of the most high-profile Chiefs fans in the world — Taylor Swift.
Swift’s connection to Kansas City has been well-documented throughout the last two seasons thanks to her relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. But before she became a regular at Arrowhead Stadium, she was known as an Eagles fan.
Barkley is hoping to use that history to his advantage, calling on Swift and her massive fanbase — the Swifties — to switch sides and back Philadelphia as it chases its second Lombardi Trophy.
Saquon Barkley Makes Pitch to Taylor Swift, Swifties
Barkley, never one to miss an opportunity, made his case loud and clear about the singer who grew up in West Reading, Pennsylvania.
“She was an Eagles fan her whole life,” Barkley said. “I think the Swifties should come to our side.”
The message was simple, but will it be effective? If Swift grew up in Eagles green, why not come full circle and support them when it matters most? Of course, Swift has spent the past two years decked out in Chiefs red, watching Kelce and Patrick Mahomes dominate the AFC. But Barkley’s call to action could create an interesting dynamic heading into the biggest game of the year, especially for the Swifties raised in Pennsylvania.

The Eagles running back knows that shifting Swift’s allegiance, even for one night, is a long shot. But in a game that could be decided by the smallest of margins, anything that gives Philadelphia an edge is worth a shot.
Barkley Looking To Cap Fantastic Season With Super Bowl Ring
After signing with the Eagles in the offseason, Barkley has been everything they’ve hoped for and more. He put together a monster year, rushing for over 2,000 yards while being the engine of the offense. His ability to take over games has given Philadelphia a dimension it lacked in recent seasons, making life easier for Jalen Hurts and the passing attack.
And when the stakes were at their highest, Barkley delivered. In the NFC Championship Game against the Washington Commanders, he put on a show, scoring three touchdowns to power the Eagles to a 55-23 victory.
His combination of speed, power, and vision has made him the ultimate weapon for Philadelphia, and they’ll lean on him heavily once again against the Chiefs. With his help, the offense finished 14th by PFN’s Offense+ metric in the regular season. He’s been even better in the playoffs.
Kansas City’s defense has been solid all season, but stopping Barkley is a different challenge entirely. If he can dominate on the ground, the Eagles have a legitimate shot at controlling the tempo and keeping Mahomes on the sidelines. That could be the key to avenging their Super Bowl 57 loss and hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.
