Latest Fantasy Injury Updates
Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants
New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley, in his second game back post-ankle injury, appeared to hurt his elbow in Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders. Early on in the game, Barkley hyperextended his elbow and headed to the sideline to have it looked at by staff. He did re-enter the game, this time with a sleeve on his left arm and elbow that he injured.

Barkley finished the game with 21 carries for 77 yards, three receptions for 41 yards, and one TD. He looks like he is back to classic Saquon. After the game, Barkley said he will “be alright” for Week 8 against the New York Jets.
Miles Sanders, RB, Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers RB Miles Sanders had a week off in Week 7 for Carolina’s bye, and that, plus missing Week 6 due to an injury, leaves fantasy managers hopeful he will be fresh and ready to go this week against Houston. Sanders sat out Week 6 with a shoulder injury, and Chuba Hubbard looked strong when he stepped in.
Sanders has had a slow start this year, first dealing with a groin injury that popped up in training camp and then his current shoulder issue. It is uncertain if he will return this week, but even if he does, Hubbard might be the better start with the way he has been playing. Sanders is currently RB45, and Hubbard is RB37, and it seems to have become a timeshare in Carolina.
Jerome Ford, RB, Cleveland Browns
Jerome Ford seemed to sustain an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. He limped off the field into the blue medical tent, and he was seen with a walking boot on his right foot after the game.
On Monday, Ford was diagnosed with what they are reporting as a “low grade, high ankle” sprain, which will sideline him for one to two weeks. Kareem Hunt should be the primary recipient of touches with Ford out of the rotation, but expect some sprinkling of Pierre Strong Jr. The Cleveland Browns love a one-two punch.
Despite only playing 43% of the snaps, Ford finished the day with 74 yards rushing, 20 yards receiving, and one TD. Hunt finished Sunday with 32 yards on the ground and two TDs.
