San Francisco 49ers Predicted To Deal $120 Million Star to AFC East Team Desperate for WR Help

A team in the AFC East is in desperate need of a WR1, and the San Francisco 49ers could provide them that by shipping out a star WR.

The San Francisco 49ers agreed to terms on a four-year, $120 million contract with star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk ahead of the 2024 season. However, there’s still a solid chance that Aiyuk and the 49ers part ways as soon as the 2025 offseason.

The 26-year-old’s relationship with San Francisco’s front office has been a rollercoaster in recent years, which could be a factor in the parties moving in different directions. If the Niners are willing to trade away Aiyuk, a plethora of organizations, one of which comes from the AFC East, could pick up the phone.

San Francisco 49ers Predicted To Deal Brandon Aiyuk to the Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills continue to come up short in the postseason, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship, 32-29. Quarterback Josh Allen performs as one of the NFL’s best when it matters most, but oftentimes, he has a lack of talent to rely on.

This was apparent when Allen made an incredible play at the end of the game, but tight end Dalton Kincaid dropped the low pass. Pro Football Network’s Kyle Soppe predicts the Bills will trade for Aiyuk to solve this exact problem.

“The Buffalo Bills are clearly close to breaking through for an organization that has yet to hoist the Lombardi Trophy, and it’s not every day that a game-breaking receiver entering his prime is available as Brandon Aiyuk appears to be,” Soppe wrote. “Yes, I said, ‘game-breaking.’ Aiyuk’s name is often left off the list of the best wide receivers in the game, but that’s disrespectful.”

Aiyuk missed a large number of games in the 2024 campaign, recording 25 receptions for 374 yards and no touchdowns in seven appearances. The year before was the best of his career, as he finished with 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns.

“As it stands right now, the Bills’ WR room isn’t capable of stretching the field at a high level. Not a surprise, given the talent they let walk ahead of this past season. As a result, Josh Allen’s deep-ball numbers crashed,” Soppe wrote.

Allen has one of the league’s strongest arms and, as of this season, one of the more accurate. It’s why PFN ranked the Bills QB third on their QB+ metric. However, his arm was much less relied on than usual because of the lack of production from the receiving room. Instead, he relied on his legs, especially in the biggest moments.

Bringing Aiyuk to Buffalo could be exactly what the Bills need to finally defeat the Chiefs and win the Super Bowl.
