San Francisco 49ers News, April 15: Brandon Aiyuk’s Agent Denies Trade Request, 49ers Land Offensive Tackle in Recent Mock Draft, and More

The San Francisco 49ers‘ offseason has been designed for one thing — getting back to the Super Bowl in 2024. This time, however, they want to win it. With the 2024 NFL Draft closing in, some of the most important decisions of their spring are just around the corner.

Oh, they still have to figure things out with star receiver Brandon Aiyuk, too.

    San Francisco 49ers News Today

The 49ers are getting prepared for the NFL Draft, and so are fans, who are trying to predict what they’ll do come April 25. Additionally, an Aiyuk trade request has been shut down, giving San Francisco reason for optimism.

All of that and more in today’s 49ers news!

Brandon Aiyuk’s Agent Shuts Down Trade Request Rumors

One of the biggest storylines around the 49ers recently has been Aiyuk and what his future holds. In the last week, he notably unfollowed the team on social media. On Sunday, it was reported that Aiyuk had officially requested a trade.

However, Aiyuk’s agent, Ryan Williams of Athletes First, denied that.

“You need better sources,” said Williams on X (formerly known as Twitter).

While this shuts down immediate Aiyuk trade rumors, it doesn’t mean they won’t return during the NFL Draft, when San Francisco may be more incentivized to make a move.

In the first round, we selected Tyler Guyton for San Francisco, an offensive tackle out of Oklahoma.

“Offensive tackle has been a popular pick for the 49ers in mock drafts, and Tyler Guyton brings an athletic savagery and development potential to San Francisco,” the PFN staff wrote.

Some other players that received consideration included Ladd McConkey, Byron Murphy II, Darius Robinson, Xavier Worthy, Keon Coleman, Tyler Nubin, and Kingsley Suamataia.
