Sam LaPorta Player Props, Betting Lines, Odds, and Picks for Lions vs. Packers

How should you be betting the Sam LaPorta player props for Thursday Night Football after a breakout game last week?

After a big game last week, should you be looking into betting the over on Sam LaPorta player props for Thursday Night Football? The rookie tight end has been heavily involved in the Detroit Lions‘ offense so far in his role as the T.J. Hockenson replacement.

So far this season, LaPorta is leading all tight ends in the NFL in receiving yards with 186 through four weeks, and he is currently the second-most-targeted pass catcher on the Lions.

Ironically enough, Hockenson is second in receiving yards at the position so far and is the only tight end ahead of LaPorta in targets.

Last week, LaPorta had the best game of his young career so far, with eight receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown.

Tonight, it will be the first NFC North matchup of his career, going against a Green Bay Packers team whom the Lions should be expecting to compete with for the NFC North division title.

Should we expect LaPorta to continue his hot streak, or will the Packers contain the rookie in his first game in Lambeau Field? Let’s investigate his player props for the Lions vs. Packers on Thursday Night Football.

    LaPorta Betting Trends and Stats

LaPorta leads all tight ends this season in receiving yards this season and is second in targets and receptions but ranks just 21st in target share in the red zone at 14.2%. His lone touchdown for the season came on a 45-yard pass play.

    LaPorta Best Bet

LaPorta has exceeded his early expectations so far, as tight ends typically don’t contribute right away.

However, after two games in a row against the second and seventh-worst teams in defending tight ends last season, LaPorta is going against a Packers defense that allowed the second-fewest yards to tight ends last season.

LaPorta had 84 yards on 11 targets last week, but take away his 45-yard touchdown in which he was wide open, and he would’ve gone under his receiving yards prop for tonight on 10 targets.

Fanatics currently has the best number for this prop, but I also like the under at 44.5, which you can get at FanDuel if Fanatics isn’t available in your state.

LaPorta’s Best Bet: Under 45.5 receiving yards (-110 at Fanatics)
