Miami Dolphins RB De’Von Achane returned from injured reserve this week but left the game early, leaving Raheem Mostert and Salvon Ahmed left healthy at the running back position. However, Ahmed took a hit that landed him in the injury tent.
Salvon Ahmed Injury Update
Although Mostert has done the bulk of the backfield work during the game, if Ahmed cannot continue, he will be forced into consistent action as the only healthy running back left on the roster.

A short pass to Ahmed from Tua Tagovailoa led to the injury. The third-down reception resulted in a punt on the next play. Before the injury, Ahmed caught three passes for 24 yards and a touchdown. He’d carried the ball three times for six yards.

Ahmed was evaluated for a concussion but was cleared to return to action. The Dolphins’ running back has carried the ball 19 times in 2023 for 55 yards while adding 13 receptions for 63 yards.
Although Ahmed was cleared to return to action, he did not see the field on the Dolphins’ next offensive drive.
Potential Fantasy Impact
The Dolphins’ RB depth chart is starting to thin out against the Las Vegas Raiders. After Achane exited the game with an injury in the first half, Ahmed got banged up in the fourth quarter of their game against the Raiders, leaving Mostert as the only healthy back still available for Miami’s offense before Ahmed was cleared to return.
Ahmed and Jeff Wilson Jr. — who was a healthy scratch this week — could see an expanded role in the Dolphins’ backfield alongside Mostert if Achane misses any time in the near future.
