Taysom Hill suffered a gruesome injury during the Week 13 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. The New Orleans Saints star’s knee took a big hit from the helmet of a Rams player while being tackled, and he was carted off the field.
The Saints lost 21-14 and are expected to be without their utility player for an extended period. The team’s fans were devastated after Hill’s injury and cheered for him while he was carted off.
Saints Fans React to Taysom Hill’s Injury
Before getting hurt, Hill rushed for 10 yards on five carries and led his team with 37 receiving yards on five receptions. Saints fans on social media also expressed their disappointment over Hill’s injury via their posts on X. Here’s how they reacted:
This is awful. He's had so many knee injuries. This might be it for him

“Yeah, we are fu***d. He’s our whole offense. Please don’t be serious,” said one Saints fan.
“NFL has to do something about these,” said another fan about the way Hill got injured.

“Prayers for Taysom Hill. Was looking forward to trying to win my fantasy league with him,” wrote one fan.

Derek Carr was also quite upset with the 34-year-old’s injury and was asked about it after the game. “It’s the worst,” said Carr about Hill’s injury per John Hendrix. “I don’t know anything. Ya’ll probably know more than me. Just as a brother, as a friend. It’s bigger than football at that moment.”
The loss against the Rams was the team’s first since firing Dennis Allen. Los Angeles scored 14 points in the fourth quarter against an injury-depleted Saints team to record its sixth win of the season. The NFC West franchise still has a chance to win the division and will hope to build on this performance as they will face a tough test against the Buffalo Bills next week.
The Saints are 4-8 on the season.
The Saints Have Many Productive Players Out Injured
Hill is another important player that the Saints will be without next week. The BYU product has rushed for 268 yards and six touchdowns in seven games this season, averaging a career-best 7.9 yards per carry. He also has 150 receiving yards on 18 receptions this year and was one of the team’s most dependable players on offense.
Other notable Saints players on offense that are currently out injured include:
- Mason Tipton- WR
- Chris Olave – WR
- Rashid Shaheed – WR
- Bub Means – WR
- Kendre Miller – RB
- Ryan Ramczyk – OT
- Nick Saldiveri – OT (Suffered a knee injury in Week 13’s loss to the Rams)
Carr also missed three games earlier this season, and this year is coming to a very sorrowful end for the Saints, given how well they started it.
New Orleans scored 40+ points in their first two games of the season and blew out the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys. Since then, everything has gone wrong for the team, costing their former head coach (Allen) his job.
It will be interesting to see what the franchise does in the offseason as people across the NFL world, and even their own fans, have constantly urged them to start a rebuild. But Carr still has two years left on his deal, which could make general manager Micky Loomis hesitant to tear down the roster.
