Los Angeles Chargers (at NE)
If you started the Chargers’ defense any of the past three weeks, it did not go well. They’ve recorded a total of six sacks and recorded a mere two turnovers. But, of course, it’s about the matchup.
The Chargers have posted top weeks before. When they faced Gardner Minshew, Bryce Young, Jameis Winston, and Kirk Cousins, it went quite well.
Drake Maye has a bright future. But the Patriots have been very kind to opposing defenses, being the sixth-easiest matchup this season. Maye entered Week 16 having taken 27 sacks on the season, and he took two more against the Bills. The Chargers look like a top streaming option for Week 17.

It is also worth remembering that while the slot is sometimes referred to as defense or “DEF,” it often includes special teams points as well. You may see the defense position listed as “DST” on some sites to account for that.
